We want to make IV famous at this event and need sales personnel to talk to visitors.
Please sign up on this thread if you would like to volunteer for this task.
We need all the help we can get. 30,000 + attendees expected to attend the event.
This will be on Nov 10 th 2007 from 3pm - 11pm. Please vote and let me know if you can be there for the entire duration or choose a time slot.

We didnot file MTR. As per my lawyer, MTR takes around 2-3 months and if in case MTR gets denied then the total time (from the date of denial) will considered as illegal and it will create more problems. I also went along with my wife to chennai embassy(both H1 and H4 renwal ), they just asked me my paystubs and about my company . they didnot ask my wife any questions.
I am glad that things worked out for you and others. However, I would advise not a leave the country without finding the reason for the H4 denial. If denial reasons were legitimate, then it was possible your wife would have to stay in the home country for a long long time. Others shouldn't take this as an example and follow the same course as each case is different and it might not have a happy ending as it did in this case.

BerkeleyBee, I have contacted Jay but i am not sure how much i will be able to help with this one in particular. I have a few questions:
1) What exactly does the membership drive entail?
2) How does the process work?
3) Is there a team already established? If it is then how many members does it have?
BTW i DID attend the conference call, but due to connection problems, i was not able to follow the membership drive part. If a team is already established, then the point i was trying to make was, some members of that team can work on converting existing "free" members to "paid" members.

There is no need for you to have an actual copy of the I-140. I am assuming that you want to have the documents to prevent the current employer doing any 'harm' - intentional or otherwise to your case.
AC21 states that as long as the 140 has been certified, the current employer cannot do any thing if the employee leaves.
I am NOT sure about this next point, but even if the 140 is revoked by the employer the LC and PD stay valid.
Make sure you have the receipt #s, and check the status on the USCIS website. Once 140 is certified, you are golden.

why do you say that the audit is for pending applications only?
the news article says that they are auditing all PERM applications filed by Fragomen, which means that pending and approved applications will be audited. The article doesn't mention the timeframe either.
audit is only on pending applications..i dont think it is on certified..
also they may process fugmon cases fase..hope they dont denied any..

We will be sending emails after sometime so that that people can keep updating it. IN order for this data be reliable, the effort must start from each one of us.
We should regularly update our data and also urge others to do the same. These days I am first looking at the data of the user before replying to the post. If the data is not there, it is ok. We do not force anyone who does not have data to update the profile. Their data will anyways not show on the tracker. In the coming days we will add more filters in the tracker to clean up such people who have incomplete or zero data.
But we definitely need to nudge people who have put incorrect data to correct it. Incorrect data will hurt the reliability of the tracker and the advocacy effort we plan to do.

I do not think that you have any issues to work on W2 with an end client or with any other consulting company. Since you have completed six months period with your present employer, who supported to file GC , from the date filing I 485, there should not be any issues at all. Also filing AC21 is optional. If you are on bench your first option should be to find a project ASAP.

My wife arrived on Saturday and we completed the medical exam on Monday.
My lawyer did receive the original RFE along with the original medical that we submitted. I had to carry the document to the doctor.
Doctor did miss MMR last time because of pregnancy. He completed that and update the same document with new dates of vaccination with signature and gave us back in sealed envelope.
RFE Response had reached Texas center yesterday.
PS: Do not complete the pending medical exam though you are aware of this. You will have to wait till you get RFE. looks like the doctor would have to complete again the original document with new dates.

Hi Everyone,
I'm trying to get my SSN Done. I'm on a dependent H4 Visa and have my H1 approval .
I visited the SSN office with My I797, State ID and Passport : SSN officer straightforwardly rejected as I dont have my EAD card.
The Officer asked me to visit USCIS office to apply for EAD.
Please help me with this situation..Does a H1 get an EAD and then a SSN?

You can either be on H4 or H1.If you are on H4 you will not get an SSN No. Dependents are not eligible for SSN. You can get a denial letter from SSN office which will help you to get a Drivers License.
In case you entered the country on h4 and have now changed to H1, you would have received the approval notice with a new I-94 card printed on it at the bottom of the notice. Show that approval notice to SSN office and explain that you have changed your status to H1-B while in US. That should get you an SSN. On the other hand if your approval notice does not have the I-94 printed at the bottom of the notice, that means you have an H1-B approval but need to go out of US to get your H1 visa stamped. Until you do that your status is H4. So please check your approval notice,
